26 GRAINS

Last time I was in London I finally got to try out 26 Grains.

It’s a porridge and bowl bar in Covent Garden, and it’s perfect for breakfast. It reminds me a bit of the Danish spot Grød. I stopped by a few minutes before they opened, and people were already lining up. It’s a pretty small spot, but they also have some outdoor seatings.

I was in the mood for something fresh, so I went for their rhubarb granola porridge, but next time I’ll try the banana cacao. They also do bircher muesli and smoothie bowls or a savoury eggs and kale bowl or even avocado on rye. The fact that they also have smørrebrød (open faced sandwich) on the menu, confirms they must have found some inspiration from Denmark.

Definitely a spot to try out, if you’re looking for an alternative to the classic English breakfast!
