5 IDEAS FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE

soho_house_berlin_16_1530

I’ve decided to celebrate New Year’s Eve out of town this year – because there’s something amazing about a little getaway, wearing your most luxurious pajama, roomservice and not having to clean up from last night’s party. That got me thinking of all the options out there … Hope it can inspire you for a little getaway – where do you think I’m going?

Edition Hotel, London

I have so many great memories from The London Edition. I stayed there for New Year’s Eve a few years back and it was just as magical as you’d expect. We had dinner at this favourite of mine, but the hotel restaurant Berner’s Tavern is definitely also a good choice. Whatever you do, make sure you have a drink at the in house Punch Room bar. And if you want to party for longer than 2am (where most London bars close, also on the last day of the year) the hidden underground club in the hotel is worth a visit. Speaking of experience! Read more about the hotel here.

La Granja Ibiza

Ibiza might not be steaming hot in December, but a little sun goes a long way if you ask me. And there’s something charming about visiting summer places off season. Though it would be a pretty calm New Year’s Eve, this new members only farmhouse hotel is high on my travel wishlist right now.

Les Bains, Paris

Les Bains might be best known as the night club hosting guests like Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Karl Lagerfeld and Naomi Campbell to name a few – that was back in the 80’s and 90’s. Since then it’s been closed, only to reopen last year, not only as a night club but a hotel as well. So since partying is the spirit of this place, and I’m sure you could have a pretty good time here.

Riad Kniza, Marrakesh

I’ve heard so many good thing about Marrakesh – and it looks absolutely stunning. Besides visiting the Jardin Majorelle (loved and previously owned by Yves Saint Laurent) you’d find me hanging out on the rooftop terrace drinking fresh mint tea or in the spa. Ahh!

Soho House, Berlin

It’s close to Copenhagen, the city is pretty cheap and the hotel has all you can wish for: several restaurants, bar, heated roof top pool, spa and a movie theatre. I would lock myself up here the whole weekend.
