FAUNA & FLORA

Usually a city break involves walking around in search of a good breakfast spot – hopefully it’s worth the effort. With Lisbons many hills and stairs, the effort was a little greater than normally – luckily so was the reward.

As we stayed in an Airbnb we didn’t go out for breakfast many times, but luckily we went to Fauna & Flora – a must if you ask me.

Flora & Fauna opened in November last year, puts healthy and natural first, and it shows from the moment you walk in the door. Actually it shows already outside of the door, where green leaves are literally growing out the wall. After too many days of croissants and Portugese pastries I was happy to indulge in their detox bowl (a more veggie filled version of an acai bowl) and the best orange juice I’ve had in a long time. Alex opted for the banana pancakes topped with peanut butter and a green juice. Yum!

If you like breakfast and brunch, this is your place, because they serve it all day.

Fauna & Flora is that kind of place where we could have hung out all day. And we would have any other day, but this exact day we had plans to do a little trip to Cascais. I’ll tell you more about that very soon. But for now I’ll dream of coming back to the colorful streets of Lisbon and the colorful menu of Fauna & Flora.
