I had a hard time believing anything could compete with my all time favourite brunch spot in Notting Hill, but I was wrong.

I should have figured by the  constant line outside, but to be honest I was convinced the guys queuing was only there because they had no idea what was waiting for them down the street.

Luckily, I decided to give it a go on my recent trip to London, where I was also celebrating my birthday (hence the big smile on my face). We came early (around 9.30 am) on a Saturday, the place was busy and full, but there was no queue – yet. The staff was friendly and asked us to wait outside with a coffee, but we didn’t get to the coffee before we were seated inside.

Granger & Co. is opened by Australian chef Bill Granger, and the brunch menu is impressive to say the least. Freshly squeezed juices (from the classic OJ to beetroot or greens), yoghurt, granola, bircher muesli, muffins, avocado toast, ricotta pancakes, courgette fritters or their specialty: the scrambled eggs. Some of the best I’ve ever had. In other words: there’s something for everyone here, and it all looks good.

I couldn’t have wanted a better place to spend my birthday morning, and can’t wait to come back to this new favourite.

Granger & Co., 175 Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill.
