This could very well be the most romantic restaurant in New York.
Maison Premiere is placed in Brooklyn and indeed masters the art of sea food. Oysters, lobsters, scallops, mussels – everything your fish craving heart can wish for, you’ll get it here.
The inside of the restaurant is charming, cool and has an antique look like many restaurants in Brooklyn – but Maison Premiere does it in a convincing manner. The true gem though, is the back garden filled with plants and string lights – the perfect place for a romantic date.
For starters we went for a spanish mackerel crudo and sea urchin (my better half has an obsession with them) and for mains a cucumber gazpacho with sea scallops (perfect on that very hot summer night) and a classic lobster roll. Everything was extremely fresh, and I found it refreshing to see so many variations of fish on the menu. Their specialty is oysters, and they offer many different kinds – don’t miss the happy hour from 4pm-7pm where all oysters are 1 dollar each.
Maison Premiere also has a dangerous absinthe cocktail card – this is definitely also the place to stop by just for a drink.
I’d love to go back, next time for the seafood tower we eyed our neighbours were having.
