Doing this post, I realise how fast this year has passed – but it’s been a crazy one! I feel so lucky to be able to travel so much through my job, it constantly inspires me, and I can’t wait for even more adventures in 2017!
January: Golden Globes in Los Angeles
One of the most insane experiences of 2016 – to say I was starstruck is putting it mildly! I fell in love with LA all over again, and I really hope to come back to this Venice brunch place and sip a coffee here. Here’s to hoping I can go back in the new year.
January: ELLE Galan in Stockholm
From one red carpet to another … The day after I landed from LA, I hopped on a flight to Stockholm. With jetlag in my veins, I had a blast at the Swedish ELLE Galan hosted at the beautiful Grand Hotel.
February: New York Fashion Week
Off to The States again, this time New York. It was freezing, but totally worth it! Attending the Proenza Schouler show and seeing Gigi rock the Tommy Hilfiger runway is something I won’t forget! This was also when Barneys just opened their downtown location. More about that trip here.
March: Paris Fashion Week
Springtime in Paris, how about that? A lot of pretty shows, many walks in the Palais Royal, a visit to the Chanel beauty boutique and maybe a new pair of Céline flats …
March: Adidas event in Stockholm
Went to Stockholm with the ELLE ladies to an Adidas running event. Kind of like Soulcycle on a treadmill. Pretty cool! And we had lunch at this favourite.
March: Japan
As if March wasn’t busy enough, that’s also when I went to Japan again. Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. I was high on cherry blossoms, had the best manicure of the year, biked around Kyoto and had the best coffee here and of course the most magical zen experience here.
May: London
Had a weekend in London to do a travel guide for ELLE Travel. We stayed at Chiltern Firehouse, which was unbelievable! More about that soon. Ate my way through the city here, here and here.
June: Vestiaire Collective event in Stockholm
My Swedish is improving! This time I was invited on a press trip with French luxury second hand store VestiaireCollective.com to their Scandinavian launch. Fell in love with a velvet Chanel bag and had dinner at PA&CO.
June: Gucci event in Milan
A Gucci fragrance launch in Milan with Alessandro Michele himself! That was pretty amazing. Had a pink theme going on, drooled over the beautiful bags at the Gucci store (brought home this one) and discovered a new cute café.
June: Boston
Off to Boston, also to write a travel guide for ELLE Travel. Probably the place I least expected I’d go to, but it surprised me the most. I still dream of breakfast at Tatte! This was also where I brought back the pink fringe stunner of a Proenza bag. Two new bags in one week? Yes! Because sometimes you just have to … Did a video from this trip, see it here.
July: Mallorca
Summertime! Had the best time in Mallorca, staying at this gorgeous hotel, sailing and swimming. I love that place, and can’t wait to go back next summer!
August: Stockholm Fashion Week
Fourth time is a charm, and Stockholm is beautiful in August. Had so much fun at fashion week, dressing up in PJs and falling in love with all of the ATP Atelier collection.
September: Paris Fashion Week
Back in Paris, this time to attend my first ever Chloé show. That was huge! Also fell in love with a pair of Céline shoes, that was unfortunately sold out in my size …
October: Milan
Luckily, I found the Céline shoes in Milan. After too many times being there with work, I decided to bring my boyfriend for a romantic weekend. Shopping, drinking cappuccinos and eating too much pasta equals the best weekend ever.
November and December has been crazy busy, but I can’t wait to end the year in Berlin. More about that soon!
