I love to try new hotels, and during my stay in Milan last month, I had the pleasure of trying out Room Mate Giulia.
I wasn’t familiar with it until editor Mette told me about it, and that it’s designed by Patricia Urquiola, a Spanish interior designer and architect who lives and works in Milan, and has worked with a bunch of cool companies such as Flos, Boffi, Louis Vuitton and Georg Jensen.
Patricia’s style is modern and vibrant with a retro touch – which shows in the colorful and graphic details of the hotel. The lobby is casual and cozy, you instantly feel like hanging out there when you enter the hotel. And the bookshelves invite you to! The floor in the lobby is pink marble – just like in the Duomo, and it’s apparently one of Patricia’s signature colours.
The hotel is literally right around the corner from Il Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele, making it the perfect spot and in walking distance to almost anywhere!
The rooms are comfortable, the beds soft, and the breakfast is delicious and simple, with everything you need for a day in Milan.
