A lot has happened in London’s Covent Garden in the past few years, so even though it still is one of the more touristy parts of town, there’s plenty of reason to go.
Not only is one of my favorite hotels there, you’ll also find 26 Grains, a wildly popular breakfast spot. But seats are limited, so if you want to have a more proper sit down brunch, go for the new Abuelo.
Abuelo is an Aussie spot, with a focus on details. And coffee, of course – the Aussie’s know what they’re doing when it comes to coffee. The menu is not your usual breakfast combo of eggs and bacon, and this must be one of the few new spots not to serve an avocado toast. Instead try the whipped mascarpone, fig and pistachio toast or how about beetroot and rosemary hummus toast with an egg on top? They also do salads that looked really good, but if you’re just in the mood for a coffee and a croissant, that’s an option too.
Abuelo has an evening menu too – worth a try next time.
Don’t miss a walk around Covent Garden afterwards, it’s always decorated with lots of pretty flowers.
