BEST OF 2017

I know we’re already a week into 2018, but better late than never right?

Last year was crazy busy, very adventurous and filled with lots of fun and great memories. Here’s a round up of the best of the best, but one thing that stands out and tops the list is that my boyfriend of 10 years, Alex, proposed to me. It happened on our 10 year anniversary trip to London – the picture above is us celebrating that same evening at our favorite restaurant Chiltern Firehouse. I know it’s blurry, but just look at how happy we look!

Here are my other top moments of 2017…

Best statement coat: Saks Potts’ ‘Febbe’ coat

I started 2017 with a trip to Berlin Fashion Week, and this coat kept me both warm and chic. A year after and I still have a crush on it!

Prettiest nail salon: Olive & June, LA

In February I was off to LA, where I had to stop by one of my favorite nail salons: Olive & June.

The brunch I’m still dreaming about: Sqirl, LA

LA was also where I tried out Sqirl for the first time – their brunch is to die for. I got the cookbook afterwards. Let’s just say one of my New Year’s resolutions is to make more dishes from it, because everything looks so good.

Best workout: Hiking Runyon Canyon, LA

Morning hike with the reward of this view of LA – it really doesn’t get more beautiful than this!

Best date spot: Le CouCou, New York

Le CouCou is one of my all time favorite New York restaurants. It’s old school classic French and super romantic. Okay, I admit the fact that I went here for Valentine’s might have something to do with it, but I could easily come back any other night. Or morning – they serve indulgent breakfast too!

Most decadent coffee break: Hôtel Costes, Paris

This classic French fashion week spot is (still) perfect for a luxe break!

Best place to jump start spring: The Mediterranean

Easter break in Mallorca was heavenly! It was warmer than usual, it almost felt like summer. With the cold spring of Copenhagen, I’m planning to repeat this again in March this year.

Prettiest bathroom: Henrietta Hotel, London

Yes, of course it’s pink! During our love trip to London we stayed at Henrietta for the first time. I’m definitely coming back!

Best new skill: pasta making

I love to cook, and 2017 was the year I attended a cooking class in Eataly. Let’s just say we’ve had many pasta dinners since, and we have no intentions of stopping now.

New favourite Copenhagen café: Sonny

Sonny is only 5 minutes from where I live, which makes me a regular there. They do the best breakfast and coffee in town!

Best pink: Hotel Grand Amour, Paris

As this is the time of millennial pink, I couldn’t help but include this pretty hotel room.

Best cheap find: a straw bag

2017 was the year we swapped our it bags for straw bags – at least during summer. This amazing store is in Mallorca. This was actually my second most liked picture on Instagram last year. My most liked was the one I announced the proposal with 🙂

Best rooftop pool: Soho House Barcelona

While in Mallorca for the summer holidays we hopped on a flight to Barcelona for a few days. The city is crazy hot in July, so we almost didn’t leave the perfect rooftop at Soho House.

Most decadent lunch: Chiltern Firehouse, London

If you’re celebrating, or just  in the mood for something extra.

Best girls trip: Milan Fashion Week

Went to Milan for Fashion Week with Johanne from ELLE. We had such a great time dressing up, eating gelato and stealing pillows from the Etro show!

Best birthday gift: a trip to NYC

Alex strikes again! For my birthday he gave me a trip to New York, where we went in November. I really never get tired of that city. Read more from our trip here.

Best spontaneous idea: a trip to Lisbon

On Christmas Eve me and Alex decided we shouldn’t spend New Year’s at home, so we booked a trip to Lisbon. I’m a big believer that you only regret the trips you don’t take, and this was no exception. It was our first time in Lisbon, and it was amazing. More about that very soon!

Hope you had a great start to the new year – as for me I’m planning a year of more pasta cooking, wedding planning and hopefully lots of travels.
