I was super excited to come to Osaka – it’s supposed to be the food heart of Japan, and my research showed a lot of really cool spots there.

The first spot I tracked down was Biotop, because it simply looked too cool not to – and it was!

Imagine the most gorgeous flower shop combined with a really cool coffee shop. Add to that a fashion store selling both men’s and women’s clothing (from Acne and Stella McCartney to Biotop’s own brand of great basics) with a beauty section of natural products like Aesop, Grown Alchemist and John Masters Organics. Like that wasn’t great enough, you can top it off with a stunning rooftop restaurant specialising in heavenly pizzas.

Pizzas? In Japan? Yes … After a week of fish, ramen and more fish, it’s hard not to crave some Western food. And these pizzas just looked (and tasted) so good!

Spring was hitting Osaka as we sipped homemade lemonade and munched on pizzas, surrounded by flowers and pastel coloured furniture. I’m sure this place would be just as perfect on a steamy summer night!
