It’s Sunday evening, and I’m doing as little as possible after a fun but busy Copenhagen Fashion Week.

And I’m seriously craving the food from Bottega Louie in Los Angeles. Artichoke pizza, roasted brussels sprouts and maybe the best thing ever invented; portobello fries. Yes! I never tried that before, but they were so good they deserve a blog post on their own. Something savoury (and hangover perfect) dressed as a healthy veggie? Count me in!

Bottega Louie is like a Californian version of Ladurée; pastries, cakes, macarons and that Parisian vibe, but compared to Ladurée this place is huge and the menu much more American. The menu is also huge … which is why we asked the waiter for recommendations. Do you ever do that? If not, you should! If I’ve learned anything from my experience of dining out, it’s that it’s a great way to discover something new on the menu. Otherwise how would I have gotten to know my new portobello friends?
