I’ve met a new Boyy.
It all started back in December, when I interviewed Jesse Dorsey (who’s one of the guys behind the cool brand) about their upcoming Copenhagen store. He and girlfriend Wannasiri Kongman started the brand back in 2006, because she always noticed other girls handbags when walking the streets of Soho, New York – until they decided to design their own.
The beautiful store in Copenhagen opened last month, but their flagship is located in Bangkok with two more in shopping malls, so when I was on my recent trip to Thailand, I had to stop by.
The amazingly cool Bangkok store even has it’s own café and is like an oasis in the middle of the bustling city. The café is known for their almond croissants, inspired by a favourite Jesse tasted elsewhere, and is said to be the best in the city. I’m lucky I got to visit it, because unfortunately the space has now been sold, forcing them to close the flagship store and café.
Why even do this post then?
Well, I’ve fallen for Boyy and their cool universe (not to say their chic handbags and to die for loafurs), and whether you’re in Bangkok or Copenhagen a visit to Boyy should be on your list. Still craving that almond croissant? Don’t worry you can have it in the mini café in the store in the Central Embassy mall.
Whether the flagship store and café will reopen somewhere else is still unknown – fingers crossed!
