I’m a big fan of Mallorca! And I’m not alone … True, there are many tourists, especially in the summertime, but if you know where to go, I’ll guarantee you won’t even think about them.
These pictures are from my last trip back in July – which is when I usually go. But there’s something great about going there off season, and even if winter time isn’t steaming hot in Mallorca, it’s still better than icy cold Copenhagen.
We skipped the highway and drove on the mountain roads instead – the sunset was so beautiful, that alone is reason enough to visit this place. So the destination: Gran Hotel Son Net. An old estate from 1672, which was turned into a hotel in 1998. The Serra de Tramuntana Mountains on which it is built is now declared a Unesco World Cultural Heritage Site.
We had a romantic dinner on the outside terrace overlooking the mountains – it was beautiful! If you’re looking for an even more intimate experience, you can book the private treehouse in the garden. Isn’t that cool?
I have yet to experience staying at the hotel, but judging by the pool and secluded location, I’m sure it’s absolutely lovely!
