A DAY IN LA’S ARTS DISTRICT

When I was in LA, I wanted to explore a little more of Downtown. Truth is, I was a bit disappointed. Besides Ace Hotel, the Acne Studios store and Bottega Louie I had trouble finding the cool spots …

So instead we decided to drive to the Arts District, which turned out to be a good idea!

This is where we found the Mast Chocolate factory. Not only is their packaging to die for, they have a lot of surprising flavours (who said horchata?) and yes they do tours of the factory! We didn’t have time for that, so instead we had too many tastings and brought home a big bag of chocolates.

Right next to Mast, you’ll find Stumptown Coffee and restaurant Bestia, which has become a new classic for Italian food since their opening in 2012.

The streets were quite empty (compared to Downtown), so when we saw this sign, how could we not go and have a look?

Inside we found the most beautiful little alley, with a small café inside. The lightning was so pretty and it was the perfect place to enjoy a coffee and a quiet moment. The name of the café is The Daily Dose.

East 3rd Street is a little more busy, where you’ll find more shops and cafés. Poketo is a store filled with notebooks, pens, calendars and other small accessories.

We decided to celebrate the perfect weather with Aperol Spritz’ and lunch outside at Zinc.

Pretty perfect day if you ask me!
