LUCA

Could this be the best Italian restaurant in London? If you ask me, yes!

Last time during fashion week, Burberry hosted a spectacular show in the beautiful Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell. And the readers who know me, will know that I couldn’t help but do my homework and plan ahead and book a table nearby for dinner afterwards. After much research, I chose Luca – and I’m glad I did.

Luca is divided in the bar and restaurant. The bar (in the front) serves snacks and small plates, and of course cocktails. In the back, you’ll find the restaurant, and let me just say the decor is stunning. Think marble of an Italian palazzo meets luxurious wooden floors and tables, soft leather booths and art deco lightning. A beautiful mix – just like the food; Italian made of British seasonal ingredients that’s also been dubbed ‘Britalian’.

I just call it brilliant.

Their focus is pasta, which is a must, but they also do antipasti really well. The Bruschetta of Scottish chanterelles is out of this world! And for dessert I only got three words: baked chocolate mousse.

I’m definitely coming back!
