It’s safe to say that the accessory of the summer is a straw bag. From the streetstyle to your Instagram feed, fashionistas are swapping designer bags for a wicker version this season. Why? Because nothing says easy summer style like a cute dress, freckles and a straw bag in hand.
So my first stop in Mallorca? Find a straw bag! And where else to do it than one of Palma’s oldest basketries?
The shop Mimbreria Vidal is a family business, and apparently one of the last remaining in Palma. On the shelves you’ll find everything from bags and hats to lamps, mats and chairs – in other words, they are straw experts.
I went for a small version just big enough to fit a camera and a sunscreen, and I’m already loving it.
